Honda Hornet 2.0: In the blooming 180–200cc segment, where new sharp-looking motorcycles with sporty intent are being churned out faster than a matka trans location in vessel tightening ceremony, the offer is plentiful.
One of them, is the Honda Hornet 2.0 – not just for the design, but also for the way it manages practicality for everyday and a dash of aggression.
It might not be the quickest or the most feature-packed in its class, but it gets the stuff that matters right — ride quality, refinement and daily usability.
Launched as a replacement to the previous CB Hornet 160R, the Hornet 2.0 brings a bigger engine, better suspension and a more aggressive pose to the table. It’s aimed at younger, urban riders who are looking for a stylish, reliable and comfortable motorcycle, but without being overly demanding of the rider.
Honda Hornet 2.0 A Bolder Design Direction
The first thing that catches the eye about the Hornet 2.0 is its streetfighter design. Loaded with a muscular fuel tank, and gold finished USD front forks, the bike exudes road presence and complements it perfectly are its sharp LED headlamp, which not only adds to the style factor, but also provides great illumination.
The X-shaped LED tail lamp, split seats and the tank extensions finished in body colour add to its sporty and aggressive look.
While some of its rivals, and even other motorcycles from the company itself are overkill with the stickers and graphics, the Hornet 2.0 is understated but mean. It doesn’t have to rely on loud colors to stand out — its proportions and stance suffice for that.
Smooth, on-demand performance.
The bike runs a 184.4cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with 17 bhp at 8,500 rpm and 15.9 Nm at 6,000 rpm. It is coupled to a 5-speed gearbox which has been designed for slick shifts and urban riding.
The Hornet 2.0 isn’t a pocket rocket — and it’s not supposed to be. What it does do is deliver solid low- and mid-range performance, which is perfect for city traffic and short weekend stints.
It also seems like Honda has bestowed this engine with a proper calibration, with its linear throttle response and a power delivery that just feels clean.
It happily buzzes on at 70–90 km/h, although an extra cog could have come in handy for those extended highway days.
Ride and Handling: The Goldilocks Zone
The Hornet 2.0 feels well balanced when it comes to ride quality. The upside-down front forks provide a plush ride over bad roads, and the rear monoshock keeps the rear from hopping around while cornering and braking.
Whether you’re filtering in commuting traffic or tipping into a bend on a twisty road, the bike feels planted and predictable.
The petal disc brakes at both ends offer strong bite, and single-channel ABS comes as standard even though the lack of dual-channel ABS is a bit of a miss—particularly in wet conditions.
And with a kerb weight of 142 kg, it’s quick-footed in city traffic, the upright handlebar and plush seat preventing long rides from turning into a pain in the bum.
Features and Equipment
In features, the Hornet 2.0 comes with a fully digital negative LCD display that accommodates information like speed, fuel level, gear position, trip meter and clock. It also boasts all-LED lighting, a hazard light switch and an engine kill switch.
But it has no more sophisticated modern conveniences, such as smartphone connectivity or turn-by-turn directions.
Pros:
The Sharper the Better muscular machine, embodies the pumped up state of the new Pulsar 200 NS.
Ride comfort and suspension is simply great
Economical engine with decent mid-range torque
Premium USD forks are a rarity in this category
Light weight, and easy to maneuver in urban traffic
Cons:

Single-channel ABS only
No Bluetooth or navigation features
It pulls modestly for a 200cc, but trails some other 200s in performance
Rear seat may not be the best for long distance comfort
